List your company for freeWoven fabric is made by interlacing lengthwise warp yarns and crosswise weft yarns at right angles. This page brings together companies in Turkey that weave, dye and finish woven fabric, and merchants that sell it. For fabrics formed by interlooping yarn, see knitted fabrics; for garments sewn from woven fabric, see woven apparel.
There is no separate sub-category for muslin and canvas; suppliers of these fabrics are also listed on this page. State the fabric name, composition and weight together in the quote. For technical uses such as tent and tarpaulin fabric, see technical fabrics.
In woven fabric the price is set by fiber, yarn fineness, weaving density and weave complexity, with dyeing or printing, finishing and order quantity added on top. Cotton Incorporated notes that fabric woven on a jacquard loom costs more because of the loom's complexity and low speed. For the choice between knit and woven, see knit vs woven fabric; for the general framework of fabric names, see the fabric types guide.
Of the 1,237 firms with a valid TOBB capacity report for woven fabrics (product code 13.20), 580 are in Bursa, 225 in Denizli and 129 in Istanbul (October 2026; TOBB). TOBB is the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, and a capacity report documents a manufacturer's annual production capacity. The count therefore covers only manufacturers with a capacity report; fabric traders and workshops without one are not included.
An older public report gives the historical picture. The specialized commission report that DPT (the State Planning Organization) published for Turkey's Ninth Development Plan names Adana, for cotton weaving and finishing, and Bursa, which has a silk-making past, for synthetic filament yarn and fabric, among the historic, spontaneously developed clusters (DPT, Ankara 2007, pp. 173–174, in Turkish). Bursa's lead matches the current record, in which Adana has 40 firms. Use the province filter for current addresses and ask which facility makes your fabric.
It depends on the name. Poplin is woven in plain weave (Collins), gabardine and denim in twill, and satin in satin weave (CottonWorks); in denim the warp is also dyed with indigo. Linen, however, is the name of a fiber and velvet the name of a pile structure. Because the names are not mutually exclusive, ask the quote to state the weave, the fiber and the weight separately.
No. The same price per meter may be quoted for fabrics with different width, weight, density and finish, and finishing also changes yardage and weight. Compare quotes together with composition, width, weight and the post-finishing state, if possible on weight per linear meter (GSM × open width).
According to CottonWorks, plain weave is very stable and has few problems with skewing, seam slippage, picking and snagging. Satin weave, with its long floats, can show these problems. For a satin fabric, tell the sewing workshop in advance and try the fabric on your own style.
