Official reports place Tekirdag's textile cluster in Corlu, Cerkezkoy and the surrounding industrial areas and link it mainly with fabric finishing (dyeing and other finishing treatments) and circular knitting. According to exporter-association records, the province ranked seventh in apparel exports and ninth in textile and raw materials (yarn, fabric, fiber) exports in January-September 2026 (AKİB, September 2026).

Finishing and circular knitting cluster

The State Planning Organization's (DPT) 2007 report names Corlu and Cerkezkoy as a region clustered in finishing, especially finishing of circular-knit fabric. The 2020 sector report of the Corlu Chamber of Commerce and Industry also names the region for finishing and, on circular knitting capacity alone, ranks Tekirdag second after Istanbul. Both sources are old, so use the province filter on the category pages to see today's company distribution.

Industrial zones

According to the official page of the Cerkezkoy organized industrial zone (OSB), the zone covers 1,276 hectares and hosts about 300 companies, 44 of them foreign-capital, with more than 80,000 employees. The companies include textile, chemicals, rubber, plastics, metal, electronics, pharmaceuticals, paper and food. The page gives no sector shares, so it is not known how much of this is textile, and the Turkish-language page carries no date.

The Corlu Chamber of Commerce and Industry's OSB page also lists the Corlu 1, Ergene 1, Ergene 2, Velimese, Corlu Leather and Marmaraereglisi OSBs and the Avrupa Free Zone (Avrupa Serbest Bölgesi).

What the export tables show

With TÜİK's exports-by-province-of-activity data, Tekirdag was Turkey's fifth-largest exporting province in 2025 at US$13.2 billion (Thrace Development Agency bulletin). But the province's leading export chapters are machinery, mineral fuels, plastics, aluminum and electrical machinery, so the provincial total does not reflect textiles.

The textile-specific tables of the Mediterranean Exporters' Associations (AKİB, September 2026) give these figures for January-September 2026:

  • Apparel: US$167.4 million, up 31% on the same period of 2025 and about 1% of Turkey's total; seventh in the top-ten list.
  • Textile and raw materials (yarn, fabric, fiber): US$153.8 million, up 12% with a 2% share; ninth.

Rankings vary by method. The TÜİK table uses the province of activity, while the exporter-association tables use the province where the exporter is registered.

Notes for buyers

  • At dye houses and finishing plants, ask about chemical management and wastewater treatment. Compare what the certificates cover in the textile certifications guide.
  • Ask for dyeing, finishing and other treatments as separate line items in the quote, and have post-dyeing shrinkage values written down. You can calculate the shrinkage percentage with the shrinkage calculator.
  • The province shows where exports are recorded. Verify separately the address of the facility where your order will be produced.
  • Compare companies: on the dyeing and finishing, knitted fabrics and knit apparel pages you can select Tekirdag with the province filter.
