Wedding and Evening Dress Manufacturers in Turkey

Wedding and evening dresses (abiye in Turkish trade) are women's dresses sewn for weddings, engagements, henna nights, graduations and parties, and most are embellished and layered. This category lists manufacturers and CMT (cut, make, trim) workshops for wedding gowns, evening dresses, engagement and henna-night (kına) dresses, and prom and cocktail dresses, grouped by occasion rather than by fabric.

Embellishment and delicate fabric: the hard part of the job

The fabric is usually thin and slippery (chiffon, satin, tulle, lace), with beads, sequins, stones, embroidery or lace appliqué added on top. Ask each company:

• Who does the embellishment? Is beading and embroidery done in the workshop or sent out? If sent out, find out who does it, where, and how much it extends the lead time; for machine embroidery, see embroidery companies.
• Is the fabric from one lot? Shade can differ between lots of lace and embroidered fabric; have it written whether the whole order comes from the same lot.
• Has it sewn this fabric before? Ask for a sample dress in the same fabric and check the edge finish, stitch evenness and how firmly the embellishment holds.

Samples, fittings and the size chart

The first sample, fit rounds and an approved pre-production (PP) sample are the backbone of the process; have the number of rounds, their duration and their fee written down at the start (sampling services, pattern making and grading, garment manufacturing process). Supply your own size chart and tech pack, and do not assume the sizes match everyday sizes. Wedding and evening dress production: Izmir, Istanbul and the trade fair calendar

Of the 66 firms with a valid capacity report in the Industry Database of TOBB, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, for wedding gowns (product code 14.13.34.70.01), 40 are in Izmir and 15 in Istanbul; for evening, engagement and fancy dresses (14.13.34.70.02), 101 of 218 are in Istanbul and 56 in Izmir (October 2026). These counts include only manufacturers with a valid capacity report; they are not the total number of wedding gown makers in the sector and should not be compared with the company counts in the statements below.

Cemil Tugay, mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, said on January 20, 2026 that 70% of Turkey's wedding gown production takes place in Izmir, by more than 1,000 companies. Mahmut Özgener, president of the Izmir Chamber of Commerce, said in February 2024 that about 70% of wedding gown producers operate in Izmir (İHA news agency). Neither statement gives the data behind the figure, and because the TOBB counts cover only manufacturers with a capacity report, they neither confirm nor refute that share. Ask for the production address in writing.

The fair specific to this field is IF Wedding Fashion İzmir (wedding gowns, groom's wear, evening wear). According to the municipality's announcement, the 2026 edition was open only to professional visitors; its organizer, İZFAŞ, lists the next edition for 19–January 22, 2027. The 2027 collections were shown in January 2026, so ask a company when its new collection and samples will be ready. IFCO (Istanbul Fashion Connection) also lists evening and wedding dresses among its product groups, according to its organizer (fair calendar).

How skirt volume and embellishment affect price

Full, tiered and long skirts use a lot of fabric, and embellishment and lace application lengthen sewing time, so ask for fabric, sewing, embellishment and trims on separate lines. There is no standard minimum order: it can be set per style, per color or on the total order, and with custom lace, embroidered or specially dyed fabric the fabric supplier may set the lower limit. Check embellishment and measurements before shipment

Check for shedding beads and stones, shade differences between lots, slipping seams and conformity to the size chart (for the sampling logic, see AQL inspection). Label content varies by target market (label requirements). For children's evening dresses or junior bridesmaid dresses, the European standard EN 14682 covers cords and drawstrings on children's clothing up to age 14; as of October 11, 2026, its current edition dates from 2014.
