According to İHKİB, the Istanbul apparel exporters' association, exports in its underwear product group were about US$497 million in January-September 2026 (İHKİB, October 2026, in Turkish). It measures exports in dollars, not the volume made. İHKİB's separate underwear export report (in Turkish) also counts nightwear such as pajamas and nightgowns in the same group, so the figure may be broader than this category.

• Production method: Is it cut and sewn or knitted seamless? If you want seamless products, ask whether the company has seamless knitting machines and whether it does this work in its own workshop.
• Size range and pattern: For which size range does it have pattern and grading experience? On stretch fabric the pattern is built around how the fabric stretches.
• Stretch and recovery: Check on the sample, also after washing, that the product stretches and returns to its size.
• Minimum and breakdown: Ask for the minimum separately per style, size, color and cup.
• Hygiene and packing: How are hygiene rules applied in the production and packing areas?

In underwear, elastic materials, trims and size range set the price

In underwear, the elastic material, the number of trims such as cups and underwires, the number of sewing operations, lace and appliqué, the size range and the quantity set the price. Do not compare quotes built on different elastic materials or lace; equalize the bill of materials first.
