Guide to the textile industry in Kayseri

In textiles, Kayseri means fabric. According to the Kayseri Chamber of Industry (KAYSO) table based on TÜİK data, woven fabric (US$93.9 million) and knitted fabric (US$69.4 million) were among the province's top ten export sectors in 2025. Together they make up about 4% of the province's US$3.85 billion in exports. The province's leading export is not textiles but furniture, at US$777.8 million.

A fabric-focused cluster

The table shows woven and knitted fabric manufacturing; apparel and home textiles are not on the top-ten list. Exports fell in both fabric lines against 2024, by about 6% in woven fabric and about 14% in knitted fabric.

Exporter-association records support the picture. According to the September 2026 report of the Mediterranean Exporters' Associations (AKİB), Kayseri ranked seventh in Turkey in textile and raw materials (yarn, fabric, fiber) exports in January-September 2026 with US$213.7 million, up 4% on the same period of 2025. Because the two sources use different classifications, do not add their figures together.

Textile also has deep roots in the province: the foundation of the state-founded Sümerbank cloth factory in Kayseri was laid on May 20, 1934. That history says nothing about today's distribution of companies.

Industrial zones

The official page of the Kayseri organized industrial zone (OSB) describes the zone as 22 million m² with 1,179 factories and about 70,000 workers, without a data date. Textile is among the listed sectors, but the page gives no number or share of textile companies. Besides the Kayseri OSB, the province has the Incesu, Mimarsinan and Erciyes OSBs.

Neither the chamber's nor the OSB's pages show where textiles concentrate, so verify the location of the facility company by company.

Export markets

Kayseri's exports are weighted toward Europe: in 2025, European countries accounted for 51.6%, Middle Eastern countries for 15.4% and African countries for 12.6%. The three largest markets were Germany (US$366 million), Iraq (US$292 million) and the United States (US$250 million). These figures cover all sectors and do not show the market split of fabric exports, so ask a supplier which countries it sells fabric to and request references.
