Osmaniye's textile exports are led by yarn and woven fabric, not garments, and this picture rests on 2019 and 2021 data. According to exporter association records, the province ranked 12th in Turkey in 2025 with USD 57.5 million of textile and raw material (yarn, fabric, fiber) exports, about 20% more than the year before (AKİB, December 2025). In 2019, per TÜİK data relayed by DOĞAKA (the Eastern Mediterranean Development Agency), the product group "yarn and woven textiles from textile fibers" was the province's second-largest export item at USD 33.0 million (10.81% of the total). Iron and steel basic industry came first at USD 236.7 million. TOBB-TEPAV's August 2021 analysis put textile and raw material exports in January-August 2021 at USD 29.4 million, while ready-made garment exports stayed at about USD 0.6 million.
Export trend
According to the TOBB-TEPAV analysis, textile and raw material exports were USD 11.5 million in January-August 2020 and rose to USD 29.4 million in the same months of 2021, an increase of 156.4%. Total provincial exports rose from USD 123.0 million to USD 270.4 million over the same period, with steel first at USD 210.9 million. The same analysis shows that 29.98% of the province's gross domestic product came from industry in 2019 (TÜİK Regional Accounts). The base period, 2020, was affected by the pandemic, so check current data before treating the increase as a lasting trend.
Industrial zones (OIZs)
An organized industrial zone (OIZ, Turkish: OSB) is a planned industrial park with shared infrastructure. In the list of OSBÜK, the OIZ association of Turkey, the Osmaniye OIZ (Toprakkale, 762.6 hectares) and the Kadirli OIZ (218 hectares) are operating, while the Düziçi and Sumbas mixed OIZs are at the planning stage. DOĞAKA's OIZ page says Osmaniye OIZ was founded in 1994 and that its two largest groups of firms are iron and steel (47) and textiles (24); these two counts are undated. According to a 2019 table on the same page, 117 firms and about 10,000 people worked in the OIZ. For Kadirli OIZ the page lists food, textiles, machinery and metal sectors but gives no count of textile firms.
How old is the data?
The product, OIZ and provincial share figures in this guide belong to 2019-2021; only the textile and raw material export total and ranking are 2025 data. Older figures do not show the province's capacity or export mix today, and an exporter association registration shows where a company is registered, not where it produces. Ask the supplier for current documents. The Osmaniye Chamber of Commerce and Industry lists capacity report applications among its services.
