The agency's investment page also names ready-to-wear apparel, food and agriculture-livestock among the province's other developed sectors; the newest trade data on that page is from 2018.
Aksaray Organized Industrial Zone
OIZ stands for organized industrial zone (OSB in Turkish): a planned industrial estate whose infrastructure is shared by the firms in it. Aksaray OIZ covers 1,514 hectares and ranks 11th in Turkey by area (OIZ website). In the list of OSBÜK, the OIZ association of Turkey, it has 681 parcels, and the Tuz Gölü OIZ in Eskil district (139.5 hectares) appears as the second operating OIZ in the province. Its shared services include a truck park, a fire station, an emergency health center and a daycare.
According to the OIZ management, 311 factories in 19 sectors were in production in December 2024, about 15,100 people worked there and parcel occupancy was 99%. The OIZ also hosts a TOBB high school that runs a vocational training program and a private college (1,932 students in total), and management expects employment to reach 25,000 when projects under construction open.
The OIZ's list of firms in production gives each company's name, phone and address but no sector information. To pick out the textile producers you need to query individual companies and ask for their activity certificate (faaliyet belgesi).
Location and access
According to the OIZ website, Aksaray is 240 km from Ankara, 170 km from Kayseri and 160 km from Konya, and Nevşehir Cappadocia Airport is 90 km away. The Ahiler Development Agency's 2019 document gives the distance to Mersin Port as 271 km. The province's exports were USD 113.8 million in 2018 (TÜİK, relayed by the agency). Textiles are not among the top five export products in that document, which are machinery and equipment, metal goods, motor vehicles, plastics and chemical products.
Sourcing in Aksaray: what to check
Verify that the supplier's facility is really in Aksaray, and which operations it performs in-house and which it subcontracts. Ask for the capacity report, the number of employees registered with Turkey's social security institution (SGK) and the machine list. Aksaray companies can be reached through the ready-made garments and CMT contract sewing categories. For sample approval and quality control, write the criteria in the AQL inspection guide into your contract.
