Textile Companies in Kocaeli, Turkey

Kocaeli's industry is led by automotive, chemicals and metals. Textiles and apparel are a secondary sector here, but one that shows up in the export tables. According to the Kocaeli Chamber of Industry, 45% of Turkey's vehicle production (2025), 27% of its chemical industry and 19% of its metal industry are located in the province.

Industrial structure

Chamber records show about 3,950 firms, 451 of them foreign-capital. The province has 14 organized industrial zones (OSBs), according to the Kocaeli Chamber of Industry, Invest in Kocaeli and the OSBÜK list.

According to the official page of the Gebze OSB, the zone covers 518 hectares and has 178 producing firms and about 29,000 employees, with a 97% occupancy rate and 42 foreign-capital firms. The OSBÜK list also includes zones such as Dilovasi, Gebze Plastikciler and KOBİ (SME) OSBs. Neither the chamber's nor the OSB's pages give a separate textile share, so only export data and company-by-company verification can show the province's textile capacity.

Textile and apparel exports

According to the September 2026 report of the Mediterranean Exporters' Associations (AKİB), Kocaeli ranked ninth in the top-ten list with US$105.3 million in ready-to-wear and apparel exports in January-September 2026. That is up 23% on the same period of 2025 and about 1% of Turkey's total.

The rank can change from year to year: Kocaeli was not in the top ten in the 2025 annual province table, where tenth-placed Adana had US$146.0 million. In textile and raw materials (yarn, fabric, fiber), the province's January-September 2026 exports were US$31.0 million, placing it fourteenth in the 20-province list. These figures show the province where the exporter is registered; the sewing may take place elsewhere.

Location and notes for buyers

Kocaeli borders Istanbul on the east. The website of the Kocaeli KOBİ OSB gives a distance of 40 km to Sabiha Gökçen Airport and 16.6 km to the Dil İskelesi port. Such proximity can shorten sample and shipment times, but it does not apply to every company.
