Guide to the textile industry in Adiyaman

Ready-made garments lead Adiyaman's exports. According to the Adiyaman fact sheet prepared under the TRC1 Regional Plan by Turkey's Ministry of Industry and Technology, garments and apparel rank first among the province's export sectors and textiles and raw materials rank fourth; the sheet does not state the data year. It also lists four operating organized industrial zones (OIZs) and two under construction. In such a zone (OSB in Turkish), firms share planned infrastructure.

Industrial zones and districts

In the list of OSBÜK, the OIZ association of Turkey, the Adiyaman (Central) OIZ covers 355.5 hectares, Besni OIZ 487.8, Kahta OIZ 160.5 and Golbasi OIZ 110.2 hectares, all listed as operating. Örenli OIZ (513 hectares) is at the planning stage. OSBÜK's April 2025 statistics, relayed by the İpekyolu Development Agency, show 153 of the 178 parcels in the Central Adiyaman OIZ in production. When you search for suppliers, check the Central, Kahta, Besni and Golbasi zones separately. In Gerger district there is an investor call for a textile park, described below.

Raw material: a small cotton share

Adiyaman is one of the cotton-growing provinces of Southeastern Anatolia, but its share is small. According to TÜİK's 2023 data, the province produced 26,964 metric tons of seed cotton (cotton as harvested, before ginning) on 65,375 decares, about 6,500 hectares. In the same year Sanliurfa produced 881,030 metric tons (Şanlıurfa Chamber of Commerce and Industry cotton report, 2024). If you buy yarn or fabric, ask the supplier where the cotton came from.

Before and after the earthquakes

A news item on the Adiyaman OIZ website says that before the earthquakes 265 textile companies in the province employed about 22,000 people, and that production had restarted in 65 of them when it was written. The item is an Anadolu Agency report. The site shows it under the date June 23, 2025, but it describes the recovery period after the earthquakes of February 6, 2023. These figures do not show today's capacity. Ask each supplier for its current headcount and machine list in writing.

Gerger Textile City

On June 1, 2026, the İpekyolu Development Agency published a call for investment in the Textile City in Gerger district. Three workshop-type factory buildings of about 1,273 m² each will be leased to companies that have manufactured textiles for at least three years. The call's stated goal is to create as much young and female employment as possible. For a buyer, this is background on regional investment plans, not a list of suppliers.

Sourcing in Adiyaman: what to check

Start with the directory pages for ready-made garments and CMT (cut-make-trim) contract sewing. For the material side, see yarn and fabric. Ask which OIZ or district the production site is in, what its current capacity is, how many employees are registered with Turkey's social security institution (SGK), and request the capacity report issued through the chamber of commerce. If you plan to place contract work, the checklists in how to choose a CMT workshop in Turkey apply.
