List your company for freeDyeing and finishing machines dye, wash, dry and finish fabric, yarn or sewn garments; this category lists the companies that make or sell them: jet, overflow and yarn dyeing machines, stenters (tenter frames, called ram in Turkey), compactors, dryers, and denim washing, laser and ozone machines for sewn garments. To have a mill dye, finish or wash your goods, see dye houses and finishing mills and garment and denim washing facilities. Dyes and chemicals are under textile chemicals and dyes, rotary and digital yardage printing lines under printing machines, laser fabric cutters under cutting machines. A steamer or wash unit sold separately from a printing line stays here.
The report says the vessels of the dyeing machines it examined reach a pressure close to 3 bar. As of the date of this page (October 11, 2026), Turkey's Pressure Equipment Regulation (2014/68/EU; in Turkish) applies to pressure equipment with a maximum allowable pressure (PS) above 0.5 bar, with exclusions such as equipment that falls under the Machinery Safety Regulation and does not exceed Category I (art. 2). Ask the seller in writing whether the machine is within its scope and, if so, for the CE marking and the EU declaration of conformity. Rules where the machine will run may differ, so check with your own adviser; for workplace inspection and maintenance duties, consult an occupational health and safety specialist. For general machinery documents, see textile machinery and equipment.
Have the quote state installation, commissioning, training and warranty-period service. When the plant is outside Turkey, ask which company will handle service locally. See also machinery service and used machinery.
Turkey is a producer in this field. According to the Textile Machinery and Accessories Industrialists Association (TEMSAD), dyeing, washing and finishing machines were 75% of Turkey's US$830 million textile machinery exports in 2023 (Textotex, May 30, 2024). The Thrace Development Agency's October 2020 report, citing TOBB (Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey) data accessed June 16, 2020, lists 125 registered producers of washing, dyeing and bleaching machines: 38 in Istanbul, 17 in Konya, 14 in Tekirdağ, and 12 each in Bursa and İzmir. Tekirdağ has the most employment (880 people), and the report says its industry along the Ergene–Çorlu–Çerkezköy axis has a dyeing machine cluster. The data is from 2020 and counts registered producers, not dealers. To see machines running, check the trade fair calendar.
All three are exhaust dyeing machines: they dye by circulating the fabric through the dye liquor for an extended time. What differs is what moves the fabric. In a jet machine, sprayed liquor pushes the fabric through a closed tube. The overflow type was developed to reduce the drawbacks of the jet and circulates the fabric more gently; according to the Thrace Development Agency report (2020), it is among the most widely used in Turkey. An air-flow machine works on the same principle, but a jet of air carries the fabric instead of water. When choosing a type for your fabric, ask the seller to show you a machine running a similar fabric.
No. A stenter (tenter frame; called ram in Turkish) grips the fabric by its edges to control its width and can reduce shrinkage; it is also used for drying and heat setting. A compactor compresses the fabric mechanically to reduce lengthwise shrinkage, and over-compaction gives the fabric a corrugated (wavy) appearance (Cotton Incorporated). Because both affect fabric dimensions and shrinkage, write into your specification after which step the dimensions are measured.
Price varies with capacity, materials and equipment, so no single figure can be given. The Thrace Development Agency report describes machines by their number of chambers (göz in Turkish) and their capacity in kg, for example a 750 kg machine with three chambers. Besides capacity, these affect the price: the grade of stainless steel in the vessel and contact surfaces (AISI 304, or the more corrosion-resistant 316), the pump, valve and control panel components, the level of automation, and whether the machine is new or used. Compare quotes on the same capacity, steel grade and automation scope, and have the currency (for example USD or EUR), VAT treatment and whether installation is included written into each quote.
The report states that these machines are built to order and can be made in different sizes depending on the type and weight of the goods to be dyed and the capacity required. A lead time therefore cannot be given as a general figure. Ask the manufacturer in writing for the delivery date, the down payment and payment schedule, the Incoterms rule, and the scope of installation and commissioning. If there is a minimum order quantity or special production terms, have them stated in the quote too.
