List your company for freeTextile machinery repair companies carry out periodic maintenance, breakdown repair, adjustment and installation of textile machinery such as sewing, knitting, weaving, dyeing and finishing, cutting and printing machines. The company that services a machine can differ from the company that sold it, so ask up front which machine families it works on and where it sources parts. If you are looking for parts, see textile machinery spare parts suppliers.
The type of service (maintenance, repair or installation), the complexity of the machine (electronic and computer-controlled systems), the technician's travel distance, urgency, the parts replaced and the scope of any contract all set the price. Ask for the quote and the invoice itemized as labor, travel and parts, and compare quotes on those items.
As of the date of this page (October 8, 2026), Turkey's Regulation on Health and Safety Requirements for the Use of Work Equipment (text in Turkish) requires the employer to keep work equipment in suitable condition for as long as it is in use, by having it maintained and periodically inspected (art. 6). The regulation's definition of maintenance covers overhaul, repair, replacement, adjustment, fault clearing, cleaning and calibration (art. 4). Most of the work you give a service company falls under this definition, so keep service records in order. Workers must also be trained on the risks and protective measures before they start using the equipment (art. 11). Ask your occupational health and safety specialist which of your machines are subject to periodic inspection.
The easiest time to assess service support is before you buy the machine; for a selection checklist, see our guide to industrial sewing machine types. If you plan to buy second-hand, ask used textile machinery dealers about the machine's service history.
Consider a contract if one machine stopping halts the whole line and downtime is costly. If you have a spare machine, call-out service may be enough. Whichever you choose, get the scope, the response time and the parts allowance in writing.
Yes, if the machine is among the equipment subject to periodic inspection. As of the date of this page (October 8, 2026), Turkey's Regulation on Health and Safety Requirements for the Use of Work Equipment defines that equipment through the tables in Annex III. For such equipment, authorized persons carry out the inspection after installation and before first use where safety depends on installation and assembly, after major maintenance and repair, and, for non-mobile equipment, every time it is relocated (art. 7). Ask your occupational health and safety specialist whether your machine is covered.
Get a service form showing the date, the fault, the work done, the parts replaced and the warranty on labor, and keep it per machine. This form does not replace the periodic inspection report issued by the authorized person; the regulation separately requires inspection results to be recorded with a signature and kept available for inspection (art. 7).
The type of work (maintenance, repair or installation), the complexity of the machine (electronic and computer-controlled systems), the technician's travel distance, urgency, the parts replaced and the scope of any contract set the fee. Because these items change from job to job, the fee only becomes clear with a quote. Ask for the quote and the invoice itemized as labor, travel and parts.
It depends on the company, your distance from it, whether the needed part is in stock and the scope of your maintenance contract; it can lengthen around religious holidays in Turkey and in peak season. Have the response time (from the report to the technician's arrival) written into the contract in hours or days; if you work on a call-out basis, ask the company for an estimated time in writing.
